MILF

One of my ex-boyfriends whom I am still friends with got the biggest kick when he realized he could label me as a MILF. However, I don't really feel like I fit into that category since the term coined in the movie "American Pie" was in reference to a friend's mother. So what exactly constitutes a MILF?
When I researched the Urban Dictionary, there were several references. The most general was that MILF refers to ANY woman over 30 that a guy wants to bang. Okay, whether or not they are actually a mom or not. Another description was any Volvo driving soccer mom. Hmmm, I drive a Volvo, but there is no tell -tale soccer ball sticker on my gas tank cover. The next one that I read said that any woman with young children who is sexually desirable. Well, that seems to fit me. However, the sexually desirable would be a matter of preference to the observer I am sure. Yet, most of the entries did entail that it was the mother of a friend of your's (if you are a guy) that you would want to service, some explicitly invoking the length of time, i.e. "all night long".
I don't think my daughter's preschool male kids are calling me a MILF so I think that I am safe in that arena. The interesting thing that this title does, outside of make the song from the Graduate resonate in my head, is qualify those of us who are romantically unattached and have a child still worthy of sexual attention.
It seems, however, it ends up being a derogatory thing because men now somehow view you as "easy" because the illusion (however temporary it can be) that the girl you are trying to get with is going to be a challenge to get into bed; seems moot with a single mom. We know how you men like a good game of chase.
So with that said it become quite a quandary for us single moms. We aren't all ready to jump in the sack, and yes its true that we have had sex because we squeezed out a baby, but it doesn't mean that we are loose women. Each woman who is single and has a child has a different history. I, for one, was in a serious relationship at the time, with a person with whom I was planning a future. By the time he bailed, it was too late for any other choice as far as continuing the pregnancy, and I was adult enough at the time to assume responsibility. Not to mention, I wanted the pregnancy.
Also, with my Google search of the acronym, I find that it is synonymous with several porn sites that exploit the title. Great, one more thing I need to battle.
As a single mom, I am not looking for one night stands, or a husband. However, dating is a disaster because its hard to justify when you are on a limited budget, the babysitting expense when you aren't even sure if it is going to be worth your hard earned cash. A gentleman would offer to pay for the sitter, and I have ran across a few who did offer this. There are many sacrifices that a single mom has to make in her personal life, but the thing that annoys me most is when I get no invitations out because everyone knows I have a kid, so they assume that I won't be able to go. Hey! Regardless of the facts, I would still like the invitation. Let me decide if I can make it or not.
MILF status, in my opinion can be a boost for the single mom's ego, which is often damaged because of their situation. I guess for me personally, it seems like a double edged sword.
